So it occurs to me that I update this thing like, never.
I wish I could say I plan on changing that, but I am le lazy, and thus, likely cannot be arsed to do it.

However, I make token effort:
New day of school.

I'm taking the mother of all course-loads this year. Honours political science makes me want to crawl into a cave. Or join the military.
I'll suffer through boot-camp if it means I get to sleep in.
And the sad thing is? It would be sleeping in. I have a whole bunch of 8:30 classes. I could do without those.
I've only had the one class thus far; Political Theories looks like it's going to be interesting. My prof is a little academe who is very Proper, and quite cute, in like, a little-old-man kind of way.

As for the rest of the classes, they look interesting. I'm really anticipating my Force and Fear one. The professor, who we are allowed to call either Greg, or Flynn--the second is the epitome of badass and thus, the one I pick--is awesome. He and I are gonna be tight, I know it.

In regular life, things are okay. I'm still not sleeping much (at all) at nights, a less-then-pleasant side effect of the surgery. Turns out I dislike complete darkness, which is something of a problem, since I can't sleep if there's any light.
So, that's a pisser. Ah well. I'll figure sometihing out. Or succumb to taking the sleeping pills. I have my appointment with the trauma centre next thursday, so that's a start.

And now, as we see, I have updated. Consequently, I now get to sleep. Gunnight.

It's snowing.

Yeah. So I'm not one for updating these-- I don't like broadcasting the details of my life to whomever happens to stumble across my art posts.
However, there's been some drama in the past week or so-- I'd fallen ass over teakettle for a straight girl who was straight-but-not, and it was long distance to boot.
I didn't mind, I've done it before, and there was serious clickage.

However, serious clickage just doesn't mean what it used to, and shit fell through.
I'm a little sore about it (and by a little sore I mean I've just recently been able to keep food down from the stress), mostly because her logic was, in my opinion, flawed.
Who the hell dumps someone because they don't want to hurt them?

I'm taking calculus, so I'm used to seeing some pretty eff'd up thought processes and I still can't wrap my head around it.
But oh well, what can you do? It didn't work, it didn't work.
I'm still not ready to be friends or to talk to her or much--its a shame, I did kind of like her a lot.

But the last time I got dumped, I did a tailspin for seriously like, two years. Now this time around, I know better. I'm not letting that happen to me again.

So, in that brave and venturesome mood, I have gone and procured myself a date with a lovely girl named Viv.
She goes to McMaster, she's an Art History major (the hell is with me and artists?!) and she plays the piano. She's graduated from the RCM, and plays competitively. We bitch about Dvorjak and Rachmaninoff, sooo.
She's a little older then I am: 21, and she's got a logical head on her shoulders. No games.

So, we went for falafels today, and talked for two hours in a skeezy little falafel restaurant by campus, and then she had to leave abruptly to catch her bus.
When I returned from my test, I see a message from her on my msn. She just wanted to let me know that she hadn't left because she was bored or didn't like me--she'd needed to catch her bus and that's why she couldn't spend more time with me.
Apparently, she'd felt guilty about leaving so soon the whole way home, and so, to make it up to me, she wants to take me out to lunch on Monday.

So, I'm going for it.
She's funny, and cute, and smart, and witty.
And so, I will give it a try and see what happens.
Its better then nothing, no?
